"Akeelah and the Bee" - Part 1

One word from the movie that I have never heard before is the word 'brunneous'. Also, one strategy that Akeelah uses is tapping her thigh while spelling. I believe that jumping rope also helped her with timing her spelling, and keeping away from distractions.

Head Over Heels-Setting

The setting in the book Head Over Heels is mainly in the teenagers' school. However, the characters jump from place to place as well. For example, many things happen when Francesca and her family travel to Florida, even when her best friend Nikki doesn't want to accompany her since she's mad at Fran-- "But I've already got plans. I'm going to Jamaica with my parents." During this trip, Francesca realizes many things and finds what she really wants, too.

Head Over Heels- Character Post

The main character in this book, Francesca, is best described as a round character. A round character is basically the main character, which develops over the course of the story. I would describe Fran as round since the story foreshadows change later on. If I were to guess what would happen next, I would think Fran falls for the new guy and is stuck between leaving her current boyfriend or not. Since the story is giving out clues of how Luke has changed her life a little, I believe that round is the best way to describe her.

In Head Over Heels, the setting takes place at Francesca's school. The first chapter talks about Luke, the new guy, and how he has an effect on everyone she knows. Every body thinks he is radiant, but Fran feels that she already detests him. After Luke comes in her class, however, she can not keep her eyes away from him. In my opinion, I believe this story is going to be interesting to read, and I'm sure I will enjoy it too.
